Kom över denna artikel (genom Seth Godins blogg). Det är verkligen upplyftande när någon lyckas sätta ord till något man upplever men har svårt att få förståelse för.

Artikeln tar upp skillnaden i tidsplanering och förhÃ¥llningssätt till “arbetstid” mellan vad som förenklat kan delas upp i skapande verksamhet och processdrivande verksamhet. Den avhandlar de avbrott i en arbetsdag som en timmes möte kan utgöra för en designer eller programmerare och den förlust i framdrift detta medför. Detta till skillnad frÃ¥n en processdrivare där möten är en naturlig del av arbetsdagen.

Jag drivs själv med denna konflikt och har svårt att balansera dessa världar. I mitt eget fall har det resulterat i att jag bedriver skapande verksamhet nästan uteslutande i slutet av arbetsdagen eller på kvällar och helger medan resten av arbetsdagen är penetrerad av löpande möten med korta glapp.

Riktigt intressant blir det när man tittar på hur en organisation bäst kan tackla detta för att man på ett bra sätt skall kunna få dessa världar att mötas. I mitt eget fall experimenterar jag med mötesfria heldagar på annan ort för att fokusera på skapande verksamhet i korta sprinter, en modell som kommer med både för och nackdelar.

    Ja, möten kan verkligen ta energi: inte minst när ett bra möte för mig kräver förberedelse och någon slags mental uppsamling efteråt. Har försökt tackla problemet genom att lägga möten på morgonen eller om möjligt kombinera med lunch: men vissa dagar blir fortfarande galet fragmenterade.
