Den senaste tiden har jag börjat få upp ögonen för en ganska enkel funktion på Miniatlas som har visat sig slå alla mina förväntningar gällande användbarhet.

Under varje destination i Miniatlas finns rubriken “Bloggar om …” som med hjälp av Twingly plockar in de fem senaste artiklarna med destinationens namn i rubriken frÃ¥n den svenska bloggosfären. Min ursprungliga tanke med detta var att pÃ¥ ett enkelt sätt ge en aktuell bild av vad som engagerar kring ett visst land just nu samtidigt som det erbjuder besökaren möjlighet att fördjupa sig i en destination.

Denna funktion har dock oväntat visat sig ha ytterligare en effekt. En ökande mängd besökare kommer nämligen in till Miniatlas frÃ¥n sina trafikloggar där de fÃ¥tt besökare genom dessa “Bloggar om …“-länkar.

När man sedan inser att dessa besökare faktiskt skrivit något om den aktuella destinationen på sin blogg och att andra besökare på Miniatlas valt att klicka på just denna bloggs rubrik på grund av dess relevans börjar man inse kraften i detta.

Vad som hänt är att jag omedvetet crowdsourcat sökandet efter relevanta sammarbetspartners till Miniatlas. När väl detta första steg av medvetenhet om varandra är avklarat kan antingen bloggägaren själv ta initiativ till kontakt, eller så kan jag använda mig av mina besökares goda smak och själv välja att kontakta en bloggare som får trafik från Miniatlas.

Det fascinerande är att denna typ av data finns lite överallt, det gäller bara att identifiera och lära sig ta vara på den, precis som med besökarnas klickande, sökord de använder på siten, tid de spenderar på specifika undersidor osv.
